Best Bang for Your Buck My electricians and HVAC techs use this as an affordable tracing and testing solution. Although it is inexpensive, it is very simple to use and still very reliable on extremely long runs of wire. It is a very rugged unit. It continues to work after it has been tossed around in your tool bag or dropped multiple times. We mainly use to verify CAT5 crimps and field applied CAT5 connectors. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with a bag to hold the unit and the adapter cables. I use a quart-sized Ziplock Freezer Bag. Now this unit doesn’t have all the bells and whistles as my $550 Fluke, but at this price point you can’t beat it. That being said, this has been our go-to tester for everyday use. Overall, we are quite pleased with this unit. It is definitely the best bang for your buck.

Gets the job done This is an ok tester. It doesn’t feel the normal high quality from South Wire I would expect. The remote sensor is hard to pull out and it feels like it’s going on break when pulling it out. It’s very light weight and simple. There is an X light and a S light and without the manual, I wouldn’t know they meant. It’s crossover and shielded. I think that could have been printed on there instead of the X and S. There is no light to say the cable passes, just lights to showing all the pairs are connected. It works and gets the job done, but I feel nana few improvements could be made.

Simple easy to use device I have had one of these tools for over a year and am very happy with it. I use this several times a month and it always works flawlessly. It is easy to use, it gives quick results and it can handle being dropped occasionally. The only thing I would change would be the ability to add more remotes to this so you can more quickly teat several cables at the same time. This is an excellent product that I think will do good for anyone that installs or troubleshoots data cables somewhat regularly.

Easy to use I love how easy it is to test the coax cables. It lets you know what the problem is. Obviously the green light next to it means it’s functioning good. The red means there’s an issue. The debug feature is awesome because it tests each one individually and you can easily identify the issue that needs to be worked on. You can see if the wiring is correct or if there are wire shorts. Comes in handy

Cable tester This is a great tester to test all your cables. Mine I was wondering if they were working properly and the tester told me they are and how good. The light indicator tells you everything you need to know. Very easy to use and detect bad wires. It told me I had a short in one of my cables so went and got a new one and switched it. Then it told me it was working.

Easy to use Use it to trace out and label existing wiring in my house, this tool made it a breeze with simple pass or fail, doesn’t get any easier. Great tool and convenient for anyone needing to trouble shoot any data issues. Can’t bet the price, this is my second one and it’s about half the size of the old style from south wire

perfect size Its a perfect fit! goes right into a shirt pocket or back pocket. The remote is on board and detachable making it a breeze to trouble shoot your cables. The cables that come with this tester makes it even better since you don't have to hunt down or make your own. the only thing missing is a bag to keep it all in.

Great Product and Easy To Use Pros: This product is easy to use. Small handheld device with red and green led indicators. Easy one button On/Off feature. Worked quickly right out of the box. Cons: Does not have a digital screen for readout. Does not come with a small storage bag to hold device or device cables.

If the red short light is on constantly no matter the cable type the unit may be providing false readings. I would recommend contacting our Customer Service at 855-798-6657 and request a warranty replacement.

Will both the tester and the remote survive being accidentally plugged into a live 48V POE? I have a cheap one that didn't!

The maximum voltage between any two pins without damage would be: 60V DC or 55V AC.
