Easy to use and Comfortable Makes short work of preparing RG59/RG6 coax for termination. But, alas, there are other sizes that need stripping too. I speak of RG8 for one. I have and used an old RS stripper which has been doing the job for years. One feature of the RS model is the ability to use an allen key and adjust the blades to obtain a more precise cut. The Southwire ST-C1 Coax Trigger Strip Tool works very well but someday the blades will need replacing and I don't see any way of doing this shy of replacing the whole tool.

Super functional! I've tried every make and model, and this one is the very best. It makes perfect cuts every time.

Works well. Received this tool a few weeks ago. Although I do not do many voice/data/communication terminations, the occasion does arise. Recently had to repair vandalism damage at a monitored electrical service, which included reconnecting the security monitoring equipment. I had the 1st opportunity to use this tool, it worked well stripping 3 different types of RG cable in this system.

Best Coax Stripper Received this to try out and I have to say it is the best and easiest coax stripper I have used. I had the one that "locks down" before you strip and always found it time consuming and difficult. This new tool from Southwire makes stripoing coax cable a breeze. Well done!

easiest stipper This is the best coax stripper I ever used. No blade adjustments, no switch between rg-59 and rg-6 just insert, twist and done. I modified it a bit by putting a black dot with a permanent marker on the insert side to make it easier to properly strip the end

Great design and very efficient! I used this tool on about a dozen RG6 cables in one day and it worked great. The tool is comfortable and a perfect size. It makes pretty precise stripping cuts. It made my job much easier and saved me a lot of time.

Simple but Effective So simple to use. Unlike other tools for cable stripping, this one requires no set up or tuning out of the box. I just relieved it from the clam shell and went to work and the trims were perfect every time.

Love the larger handle After using another brand for years I will admit I was a bit sceptical but when I got this out the first time and used it I knew I'd never go back love the larger handle and the trigger

Is this tool preset for correct cuts on RG6 quad shield cable? The one I just bought seems to cut off all the braid if I rotate it 4 times as instructed. Is there a better tool for RG6Q? Thanks!
Asked by: Trekker13
I have used this tool many times to strip RG6 quad shield. Never cut off the braiding. Make sure the cable is inserted in the right direction. If inserted in the wrong direction, the stripper will remove everything and all you will have is a half inch of exposed center conductor. Rotate the tool until the insulation feels loose. Don’t pull on the tool to remove the insulation. Open up the tool and use your fingernails to remove the loose insulation and outer jacket to expose ¼ inch of center conductor and ¼ inch of braiding. Thank you.

I have a ST-C1. I do not know how to use it. I cuts down only to the cable, but does not cut to the braid. What is wrong?
