Great kit This is not my first toner kit but i hope it will be my last. This kit is very nice. I lve the feel of the adjustment knob and the LED light. Believe it or not the light is a great feature that you dont realize is great until you have one. The volume is also great especially when your working in a loud commercial construction site. One other perk is so basic but it sticks out to me is that is actually came with batteries. That is a huge plus for me. One other awesome feature is the way the leads wrap around the toner box and the box has a strap that will hold it in place. Its the small details that makes this tool stand out against the others. It also comes with a spare tip. The strength is very good and has a nice range. I also notice that false readings is very low. It does very well at pinpointing the exact wire im hunting. I have even used this on high voltage wiring and it works on that too. I know its not designed for it but in a pinch it will work. I am very happy with this product and the quality it delivers.

This tool saved me some serious time Well no sooner do I receive this tool than I put it to work and it saved me some time. I used it to track down an air conditioner on a condo building that wasn't labeled. This meter did a great job of transmitting through about 100 feet of 18 gauge wire and clearly alerted me when I found the unit I was looking for. I also found the tool easy to set up and use. I'm so glad I ordered this tool and I expect to get many years of service out of it tracking down unknown units and circuits/wiring.

A Great Tone and Probe Kit As a HVAC contractor, I always have to trace a number of circuits behind walls or under insulation in the attic. This tool makes it possible and easy. In fact, I like it better than my more expensive Fluke Tone and Probe kit. Remember: NEVER USE THIS ON A LIVE CIRCUIT. The tone is loud and clear. There is a volume control under the amplifier probe. The tone generator has a nice lanyard to hang it up when you are attaching it to various wall boxes. That way you don't end up hanging it by the leads. The tone generator has leads both for circuits and phone lines. It comes with a heavy duty 9 volt battery and a nylon case. Using this probe, I am always was confident I have the right location when I have to cut holes in walls and ceilings for thermostats and building control system sensors.

Very helpful tool! This takes a lot of the frustration out of finding the right wire, as well as saving wasted time. The unit pieces are solidly built and have well thought-out onboard storage where needed. I love the way that a light has been incorporated into the receiver unit, as well as a spare tip. My eyes don't focus well in low light, anymore, so it saves me from having to tie up a hand holding a separate light, when I could be getting work done with that hand!

Tone and Prode kit I have been using the tone and prode kit for about a month now. It has worked great. I have to had any problems with it. In fact we trying to find an end of a cable. I hate to say this but I was using another taster at that point. After about an hour looking for this cable with no luck. I pulled out the southwire tone and prode kit and with a hitch it found the cable with out any problems. This has become my go to tool.

Love it I use for identifying electrical circuits in PLC cabinets and worked great, specially when your searching a cable in a cabinet with 500 other wires that look the same. Comes with a built flashlight that use every time since most of those cabinets are usually dark. That's a feature not found on other toners, that alone is a reason to choose Southwire ! And it comes with a nice canvas case for storage.

easy to use Well thought out tool. Alligator clips on tone part are very substantial. I like the storage feature allowing the clips to wrap around the tone generator. I'm not too sure about the little rubber band holding strap but time will tell if it holds up. The storage case is nice also. The probe is loaud and accurate and capable od seperating and locating individual wires

can the product t110tg find a broken wire under the ground like for a invisible dog fence

The T100PK will not be able to detect cable that us buried underground, unfortunately.

Circuit was off at breaker. I connected red to common and black to ground. "Pop" from the T110TG. fuse? Replaceable? Or did I just destroy my brand new unit.

When doing a continuity test the red LED lights up even when not connected to a circuit. Why does the light not disappear to indicate bad continuity when the leads aren’t connected? Model T110TG

Can the T100PK be used to trace low voltage outdoor lighting cable buried under approximately 3 to 4 inches of soil?

No, we would not recommend this Tone & Probe kit for any type of underground application or tracing through conduit.
